The Inhlanyelo Hub is an ecosystem for entrepreneurship that provides a space for a hive of creativity and innovation. Within the ecosystem, students, staff and members of the community will develop innovative ideas and create start-ups that the Hub will invest time and resources. We work with experienced business advisors, serial and seasoned entrepreneurs, consultants, and other ancillary skilled workers to provide a safe space for entrepreneurs to learn, create and thrive

Innovation Opportunities

African Impact Challenge Innovations Award: 
The University of Toronto is currently taking applications for the African Impact Challenge, which has a strong focus on South Africa this year. Registrations are now open for the African Impact Challenge. This program supports early-stage African entrepreneurs with funding, capacity building and tailored go-to-market support. Since launching in 2020, it has trained over a thousand entrepreneurs and funded over 80 of them. Top performing startups receive up to $25,000 CAD in funding, along with an all expenses covered 3-month implementation phase living at the heart of Toronto’s innovation ecosystem. Please register here before April 15 if you’re interested. Fellowships and Career Opportunities

TWAS-IsDB Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme:
Early-career researchers from the 21 least developed member countries of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) are eligible for an ambitious new postdoctoral programme offered by IsDB and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). The fellowships support research related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, providing recipients with high-level training in areas relevant to sustainability science. Read more.

Fulbright Foreign Student Program 2024-2025:

Fulbright Foreign Student Program 2024-2025: The South African Fulbright Foreign Student Program provides grants for South African university graduates to pursue post-graduate studies at a United States university in any subject (excludes MBA and studies that require contact with patients). Students are selected through a rigorous application and interview process and receive a high level of support ranging from visa processing and health insurance to a comprehensive pre-departure orientation and re-entry session.
